Running multiple local services on bare-metal hardware or consumer routers created single points of failure, lacked proper backup strategies, and made network-wide ad blocking difficult to manage. I needed a centralized, isolated, and easily recoverable environment to host critical local network tools and automation services.

Built a Proxmox-based environment using isolated VMs and containers for Home Assistant, Pi-hole, and game services, with scheduled backups to support reliable day-to-day operation and recovery workflows.
